We’re harnessing solar power – opening of the Agri-PV Park Tützpatz

On September 10, 2025, the municipality of Tützpatz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern hosted the ceremonial opening of a forward-looking project: Germany’s currently largest agri-PV park, Agri-PV Park Tützpatz, a cooperation between Vattenfall and Power & Air Solutions. We are the exclusive off-taker and, with the electricity supplied from Tützpatz, will provide Telekom with clean power for ten years.

The underlying power supply contract was one of the first long-term PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) in our portfolio and paved the way for many more sustainable electricity agreements.

Solar Park Tützpatz represents a new generation of energy production: across around 93 hectares—equivalent to roughly 130 football fields—nearly 150,000 bifacial solar modules generate an installed capacity of 76 megawatts (MWp). This means that, in purely mathematical terms, around 4,600 mobile network sites can be supplied with green electricity. The special feature: the land remains usable for agriculture—with arable farming and welfare-friendly poultry keeping beneath the modules.

“The PPA from Tützpatz is more than a contract. It is a promise—for a sustainable energy future in Germany,” emphasized Bernd Schulte-Sprenger, CEO of PASM, in his speech. By securing long-term supplies of regional, reliable and sustainable electricity, Power & Air Solutions is actively contributing to the energy transition and supporting Telekom’s climate targets.

The road to commissioning came with challenges: permitting issues as well as technical and logistical requirements. “Nevertheless, we pursued the project consistently—because the energy transition doesn’t happen by itself; it takes courage, perseverance and strong partnerships,” Bernd Schulte-Sprenger said in his address.

The project compellingly demonstrates how energy generation and agriculture can be meaningfully combined. In Tützpatz, up to 15,000 free-range chickens will in future live beneath the solar modules—protected and kept in welfare-friendly conditions. At the same time, arable farming remains possible thanks to intelligent tracker systems.

Agri-Solarpark Tützpatz is a symbol of innovation, partnership, and the connection between technology and nature. It clearly shows that profitability and sustainability can be successfully combined.
